I first developed a love of cooking at my grandmother’s elbow in her far north kitchen. I come from a big extended family and my grandmother would keep multiple tins of biscuits fully stocked for all the grand kids. There was a lot of competition for food so it didn’t take me long to realize that helping meant I got in first!
From granny's kitchen, I went on to sharpen my skills at several award-winning Auckland restaurants - Prego on Ponsonby Road, and Vinnie’s on Jervois Rd – this was where I discovered I had an undeniable love for cooking. Later, I went on to open Moa Bar & Restaurant in Queenstown. 5 years ago, I landed in Tairua, where I worked at Manaia Kitchen and Bar. Then opened FEASTnz and the popular Paku Bay Kitchen.
Tairua Beach Club is the realization of my dreams. I look forward to sharing my culinary creations with you in the backdrop of our beautifully restored historic gem.
